AYDIN SHAHIDI
Consultant
Strategy, Evaluation & Learning
Aydin works since 2018 as an Strategy, Evaluation and Learning expert in international development, particularly within the peacebuilding sector. He specialises in designing and implementing adaptive, inclusive, and holistic learning and evaluation ecosystems that empower organisations to deepen their understanding of impact, engage in adaptive management, and foster portfolio-level learning.
He is committed to upholding inclusive rigour in transformative evaluation practice, and excels in facilitating collective sense-making and sense-mapping processes that enable teams and organisations to distil meaningful and actionable insights from complex, multi-level datasets over time. His work combines feminist-transformative action research with an intensive practice of “presencing”, i.e. bringing the collective and individual possibility to the present through deep listening and generative inquiry.
Aydin has supported country, regional, and global level strategy, evaluation and learning initiatives covering a broad range of issue areas, including: local governance and market systems development, gender and social inclusion, youth leadership, natural resource management, Women Peace & Security (WPS), conflict mediation and post-conflict reincorporation, and nuclear risk reduction. His geographic experience spans Colombia, Somalia, Kenya, Guatemala, the United States, East Asia, East Africa, and the Sahel.
